Mariusz Pudzianowski was born Feb 7, 1977 in Biala Rawska Poland.. He began his professional sports career in a Polish weightlifting competition at the age of 16. Eight years later in May of 99 Marius won his first Strong Man competition in Poland, and qualified for the 2000 World Strongest Man. In his WSM debut he placed fourth. After two years of incarceration for an assault charge in his native Poland, Mariusz Pudzianowski returned in 2002 to win his first WSM title, and retained the title in 2003 by the largest margin ever achieved in the competition. In March of 2004 he also became the Strongman Super Series World Champion.

In 2009 Mariusz Pudzianowski signed a 4 fight contract with a Polish MMA organization. His debut was a Dec 2009 victory over MMA newcomer and professional boxer Marcin Najman. After brutal ground and pound by Mariusz Pudzianowski the fight was stopped after Marcin tapped after 43 seconds. His second fight with Yusuke Kawaguchi, ended with a Pudzianowski victory after a judges decision. In May of 2010 Marius fought former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia, and was forced into submission 1:43 seconds of round 2. His final contract bout was against Butterbean, who he took the ground and forced to tap from repeated strikes.
